The world of cannabis extracts is wonderfully diverse, and even as a seasoned dabber, it can still surprise me. Every now and then I'll come across something that blows me away. Sometimes it's the strength; sometimes it's the flavour.
But Diamonds & Sauce seems to take dabbing to a whole different level, delivering a powerful hit and perhaps the strongest flavour I've dabbed.
What is "Diamonds and Sauce"?
Diamonds and Sauce are a new potent form of cannabis extract combining THCa crystals (basically pure THC when vaped/dabbed/smoked) and a sauce made up from viscous terps and other cannabinoids. And this form of cannabis concentrate is taking off in the States right now. Naturally, means that it's also circulating through various cannabis black markets across the world. And recently I heard reports that UK extractors are making some fine diamonds and sauce themselves. Of course, I had to go and investigate this with my own eyes!04
For those of us who have been consuming cannabis for years changing our smoking ritual can sometimes be quite difficult.
For instance, I have always used a traditional shark tooth or metal tooth grinder. The side-to-side grinding movement can even be somewhat therapeutic, providing the grinder isn't stuck together with material left over from previous grinds. And thinking about it, traditional grinders aren't perfect. I've had dodgy ones; ones which have stuck together too quickly or were rubbish at their one job - grinding the weed. Anybody who has ever used a pin-head style grinder will know what I'm talking about. So I am always open to trying new things that might improve the overall cannabis consumption experience. Enter the Chewy 2 Grinder.27
Quartz Bangers? Quartz vs. Glass? Let’s clear a few things up... What does it all mean?
When referring to glass, borosilicate or quartz, we are referring to substances known as silicates. These are substances that contain the primary constituent silica or Sodium Dioxide (SiO ). Depending on the varying purity of silica, there are different qualities to each product. Glass can refer to many different products, but most commonly we are referring to Soda Lime Glass, that accounts for around 90% of all manufactured glass (your table glasses and bong may be made of this). Soda Lime Glass is usually around 73% silica, with other chemicals such as calcium carbonate making up the rest. It is not a particularly strong substance and is not heat resistant. Borosilicate is a much stronger type of glass, used in brands such as Pyrex. It is usually over 80% silica and can resist much higher temperatures than Soda Lime glass. Quartz, or fused silica, is (almost) pure silica. It is much stronger than borosilicate or soda lime, and can resist temperatures well over 1,000°C.Why quartz?
Quartz is used in the manufacturing of dab nails and bangers for the obvious reason that it can withstand very high temperatures. It is also less susceptible to weathering and staining due to the high purity of silica.Differences in quartz
Within the market of quartz nails, there are differences to be aware of. MassÂmanufactured quartz bangers can be found online in the range of £10 to £30. At the same time, you may see handcrafted quartz bangers being sold for astronomical prices such as £150 a piece. I have had enough experience with cheap bangers but I always shied away from the pricier specimens, sceptical of their worth. Having had a chat with an up and coming professional glassblower specialising in quartz, I learned an interesting insight. Although the chemical composition of cheap and expensive quartz may be very similar, the manufacturing process is very different.09

Wake and bake with ISMOKE this morning as we go through some smoking products and cannabis strains.
Episode 26 of the wake and bake session features using the Jaxx Baron recycler as a bong, plus a new product that I've been smoking with over the weekend - the Green Spiral.

Hello folks, welcome back to ISMOKE and to the start of a new week. Falling on a bank holiday, this Monday is a bit of a special one as it extends the weekend ever so slightly, giving people an extra day to relax before returning to the grind.
This week I have some Grand Daddy Purple to consume through my new Wasabi bong. I also wanted to attempt a challenge which I haven't completed before: a bong and a dab at the same time. To do this I used Stardawg flower and Lemon Cherry Pie shatter. But how did I get on? Find out by watching the Wake and Bake video below.08
