Following on from the success of Green Pride in Brighton this Summer was never going to be easy. Yet Jerk N Fire, which took place in Brighton last Saturday, proved to be a great follow-up, albeit slightly more chilled event.
There were thousands of cannabis consumers from the South East of England and beyond who attended the late-summer cannabis celebration event and BBQ.
Last weekend was a busy one for cannabis events - both Cardiff Cannabis Social Club and Hampshire Cannabis Community held events on Saturday 1st September and Basingstoke Cannabis Club threw an event on Sunday 2nd September.
We attended the latter event, held in Basingstoke's War Memorial Park, a short walk from Basingstoke train station. One of the best road trips I’ve had so far since getting my driving license back after a 2-year voluntary surrender following my brain surgery in January 2016, has been the long drive from North Wales to Dumfries and Galloways Awareness Event at “The Club” in Lincluden.
When I arrived I was greeted by Club chairmen Tim Rees who had been working hard to prepare for the event with his brilliant finance Sandra Louise. For me, Tim sets a brilliant example of what’s expected from a club chairman; he goes out of his comfort zone to bring the community together with an educational event designed up promote both his club and educate to the public on cannabis.Back in July we attended Green Pride which took place on the fields of Preston Park in Brighton. The wildly successful event saw thousands of cannabis consumers and legalisation campaigners attending the biggest Green Pride to date.
