Silver Bubble Strain Review
Silver Bubble comes from Skunk No.1, Haze and Northern Lights – the result is a beautifully balanced hybrid strain which delivers the best of both indica and sativa effects.
I first sampled Silver Bubble in Amsterdam in November 2016, picking it up from Gray Area Coffeeshop shortly after it won the Sativa Cannabis Cup that month.
Today I got my hands on some more Silver Bubble to review for ISMOKE, so here we go!
Silver Bubble is a THC-dominant hybrid strain with a balanced THC content of 15-17% and CBD levels ranging from 0.27% to 0.61%. It is renowned for its sleep-inducing effects, making it an ideal choice for those seeking relaxation and a good night’s rest. However, users should be mindful of potential side effects such as dry mouth and increased thirst.
The strain boasts a diverse and appealing flavor profile, highlighted by citrus notes and complemented by hints of berry, lime, lemon, and woody undertones. Its complex taste is further enriched by sweet, buttery, apple, tea, and ammonia nuances, offering a unique smoking experience.
Silver Bubble’s effects are varied, including feelings of relaxation, happiness, euphoria, and creativity, along with physical sensations like being giggly, uplifted, talkative, tingly, and focused. While it provides numerous benefits, it can also induce hunger, dry eyes, headaches, paranoia, dizziness, and a rapid heartbeat in some users.
Commonly used for stress relief, appetite stimulation, and managing conditions such as epilepsy, anxiety, arthritis, glaucoma, migraines, depression, muscle spasms, and pain, Silver Bubble’s therapeutic potential is significant. Its rich terpene profile includes myrcene, linalool, terpinolene, carene, caryophyllene, limonene, and pinene, contributing to its efficacy and aroma.
Cultivating Silver Bubble requires attention to its photoperiod flowering type, with a flowering time of 52-61 days and a harvest time after 66 days. It can grow tall, reaching 60-80 inches indoors and over 90 inches outdoors, necessitating adequate space for optimal growth. The strain yields 1-2 oz/ft² indoors and 15-20 oz/plant outdoors, making it a rewarding option for growers seeking a high yield with manageable cultivation requirements. Despite its unknown breeder and mixed strain origin, Silver Bubble’s diverse genetic background, encompassing Afghanistan, Colombia, India, Mexico, and Thailand, contributes to its robustness and appeal.
Appearance
This bud looks a little different from what I was expecting – more on the sativa side, looks-wise. It has smaller buds wound around each other to create this nugget.
It is also frosty, with vibrant orange hairs poking out every which way.
Smell
When I first picked this up I chose it mainly on the smell, which stunk of sweet haze. Smelling the bud now, it has lost a lot of that, but breaking it open I can begin to get a whiff of the familiar sweet scent.
The fragrance becomes sweet, almost slightly orangey, with dank skunky undertones when the buds are broken up.
Taste
The taste of the Silver Bubble is not very apparent through the bong, although I got a slightly sweet taste on the hit.
I was impressed with how smooth this strain was through the bong, so although it is not the most flavoursome strain I’ve sampled recently, I still enjoyed it!
Effects
This is a well-balanced hybrid so gives a mixture of elation and relaxation – after smoking it made me happy chilled out.
I’d say it is medium to strong as I certainly felt the effects from the first bong hit, and was already feeling great by the time I took the second hit.
Overall
I really like Silver Bubble and enjoyed reviewing it for ISMOKE. It has a nice smell and the effects are fantastic – however, the look and taste of the bud weren’t marked as highly.
But for smoothness – wow, the silver bubble would win every time!
