Last night I attended a plant-based food event which took place in the heart of London.
The No Whey! Wine & Cheese was a vegan event organised by Organic Livity, makers of fine patisseries.
Bringing together some of the finest plant-based artisans in London, this event took place at Club 33, which was a great space to host events like this. (You can read about the European Flame Off which took place in Club 33 last month here.)
I saw Exquisite cheeseboards, vegan wine, and delicious organic, vegan and gluten-free cakes like meringues, tarts, croissants, macaroons and more.
Also at the event were Rogue Vegan providing a range of Caribbean food which tasted fantastic and included hemp seeds on top. I grabbed some lentil curry with jerk cauliflower.
City Juices provided sugar cane juice, my new favourite drink. This has health benefits AND tastes better than soft drinks.
My favourite was the lemon-infused sugar cane juice. Did you know this sweet drink is suitable for diabetics?
I was tempted by some plant-based ice cream, artisan green teas, and another food stall serving roti wraps which looked delicious. Sadly my stomach wasn’t big enough to try everything!
Kanaco were selling hemp flowers from Switzerland. These high CBD low THC strains were on offer for £10 per gram, cheaper than I have seen them elsewhere.
It is great to see the CBD flowers market blooming across the UK – while the lack of a high makes this not to everyone’s taste, there are many consumers who report enjoying CBD-rich bud.
I was given some Hawaiian Haze, a popular strain sold by Kanaco. This tasted good in my Mighty Vaporiser and smoked smoothly through my bong.
Their Blueberry Dream, offering twice the CBD content tasted a little more fruity when smoked in my bowl. Both strains tasted clean and smoked well.
