Tottenham Cannabis Club Awareness Day July 2016 Write-Up

On Saturday we headed down to Chingford Plains for an event to raise cannabis awareness organised by Tottenham Cannabis Club.

We've had a busy few weeks at ISMOKE with Product Earth, Green Pride and this event, making it three weekends on the trot we've been travelling around the Country - and we've loved every minute of it! This event was promoted through the TTCC Awareness Facebook Page and was put on at the edge of Epping Forest.

ISMOKE Interviews Greg de Hoedt, Chairman of the UK Cannabis Social Clubs Movement

A few years ago when we were releasing a monthly magazine Greg de Hoedt, (also known as Cure UK back then) wrote regular features for ISMOKE and formed part of our panel of cannabis experts discussing topics on a monthly basis. Nowadays Greg runs the United Kingdom Cannabis Social Clubs movement, an organised cannabis community that is growing every day. Formed in 2011, the UKCSC aims to unite and give guidance to the various Cannabis social clubs popping up all over the UK in varying forms, some holding smoke-friendly meet-ups for their users.

Responding to drug harms: Can the UK learn from Portugal?

I’m always on the look out for interesting things to film for Let Me Look TV. So when I stumbled across an event called “Responding to drug harms: Can the UK learn from Portugal?” I thought it might be worth checking out.

For pro-reform advocates like myself, Portugal is often cited as a shining example of how drugs reform works - it is the way forward. Personally, I  still think they still need to fully legalise cannabis and regulate it in some way, but that’s a different discussion.

The thing that made me roll my eyes initially was way the title ‘Responding to drug harms’ seemed fairly suggestive, so my expectations weren’t that high at first glance. But after checking out the panellists, I saw it was going to be an interesting event for sure.

Cannabis is The Future

Here is a great Tedx talk called: “The Chaos of Cannabis”  by Jahan Peston Jamas. Jahan’s goal is to change the stereotypes of cannabis and give you a new perspective on the thousands of uses for the cannabis plant including housing, food, healthcare, medicine, textiles and more.
