This week in our extract review series we have Sour Apple CBD Wax by The Goods CBD. This is a form of CBD cannabis extract which contains 0% THC.
In recent years we have seen the quality of CBD extracts improve, particularly when it comes to the terp profiles of the various flavours on the market. Until recently most extracts were attempting to flavour their products with cannabis-flavoured terpenes, often extracted from fruits which varied wildly when it came to actual flavour.
But this year The Goods has released a number of extracts with new flavour profiles ranging from sweet to cocktail-inspired to fruits and more.
Sour Apple is using terpenes extracted from real apples to create its subtle yet sweet Apple flavour. Think of a granny smith apple, and you may have an idea of how this one tastes.
The forms of extract – wax and shatter are 80% and 99% CBD respectively – we prefer the broad spectrum wax for the benefit of the addition of other cannabinoids, but also enjoy the clean dabbing flavour of the shatter.
Overall this extract is a good dab, best hit at low temperature to really appreciate that flavour (and we find that CBD dabs taste better the lower temp you hit them).
The apple taste comes through nicely during the exhale, but the terps don’t overdo it, making this feel natural, just the way we like it.
It certainly gives Tropical Citrus, the previous flavour launched by The Goods last month a run for its money!
