Visiting Product Earth Expo 2021

Product Earth took place over the weekend commencing 20th August 2021. Now in it’s 5th year, this Expo has been a staple of UK cannabis events and has once again provided a great space for people in the industry to come together and celebrate.
Stepping into the grounds of the NAEC Arena in Stoneleigh, Coventry, I felt right at home. Product Earth 2019 (the last event) took place in the same venue two years ago, and would have been there last year if not for the Coronavirus lockdowns implemented across the country at the time.
The Expo itself featured a vast space for campers, exhibitors and motorhomes, an After Dark music and chilling arena, a firepit located right on the campsite, food stalls and plenty to see everywhere I looked.
The expo hall itself was a real sight to behold. A huge warehouse-size arena with 20-foot ceilings was filled with stands of hemp and cannabis industry businesses who were exhibiting their products, from lights and environment systems to super high-end glass art.
Exhibitors arrived a day early to get things set up, and then from Saturday, the Expo was open to day ticket holders and campers for the whole weekend. I camped over from Friday night- Monday morning, visiting the expo hall on both days over the weekend.
There were additional stands to visit outside the arena in the central courtyard, which also had various DJs playing on a huge sound stage throughout the weekend.
The Secret Session Cannabis Cup results took place on the Saturday, with winners announced live at the Expo. I was judging the indoor flower category of this competition and found the entries to be delightful. There were some great flower entries, and it was good to put a brand to each number I had consumed blind in the competition.
Food options felt somewhat limited – there were vegan options, cheese toasties, an Indian cuisine stall and a BBQ style stall, but I struggled to find options I would enjoy, so mainly bought tea, coffee and crisps – I wish some of the food stands from Green Pride in Brighton were in attendance! I primarily ate at the campsite (except for tea and coffee) and grabbed a Dominoes pizza on the last night.
Simpa Carter is a good friend of mine and it was great to see him raising awareness throughout the weekend: on his stand recording live podcasts with lots of guests, at the fireside chats taking place each night and on the stage in the conference centre.
Throughout the weekend, everybody I spoke to enjoyed their time at Product Earth Expo 2021, so once again, hats off to the team for putting on such a wonderfully open event whilst we are still under the darkness of prohibition (and a pandemic).
Things are changing for cannabis in the United Kingdom – this year, medical patients got their own dedicated space to consume their medicine, and the Product Earth was more welcoming than ever to people from all parts of the industry.
I filmed a video during my time at the event, which you can find below (or watch here on Youtube).
