While browsing YouTube this evening I came across this interview with the Emperor of Hemp, Jack Herer, filmed back in 1998.

In this interview, Jack reminisces about the first time he got high back in the 1960s with Acapulco Gold.

It is an amazing story that brought a smile to my face.  I can vividly remember the cartoonish aspect of my own first “green” smoking experience.

Cannabis is a wonderful plant with so many properties, and it is insightful listening to the father of the hemp movement talk so passionately about his first experience with it.

Jack Herer’s 1985 book The Emperor Wears No Clothes (available for free online here) published information about the lost history of the hemp plant, reintroducing a broader vision of the economic value of the hemp plant to all.

Sadly Jack Herer passed away in August 2010. But even after death, his reform movement continues to this day, and Jack is celebrated by a cannabis strain and cannabis advocates worldwide.
