Headbanger Strain Review

This week we are taking a look at the Headbanger strain, a Sativa-dominant hybrid strain bred by Karma Genetics.
Headbanger is the result of crossing a Sour Diesel female with a Biker Kush 2.0 male, resulting in an extra gassy OG-inspired offspring that is known as Headbanger.
Headbanger, a sativa-dominant hybrid created from Biker Kush and Sour Diesel, is celebrated for its invigorating and uplifting effects. It boasts THC levels between 22.2% and 24%, with CBD ranging from 0.37% to 0.69%. This strain is favored by both novice and seasoned consumers for its ability to enhance focus and productivity while also providing a calming sensation that sharpens the senses.
The flavor profile of Headbanger is complex and delightful, showcasing the best traits of its parent strains. Initial impressions are dominated by a potent fuel aroma, complemented by earthy undertones. Citrus notes, particularly lemon, sweet orange, and pine, emerge due to its rich limonene content, with a subtle berry hint on the exhale, making the smoking experience both aromatic and flavorful.
Headbanger is particularly effective for mood enhancement and increasing productivity, gradually transitioning to a peaceful calmness, making it ideal for afternoon or evening use. Its wide range of therapeutic applications includes stress relief, depression, mood disorders, migraines, insomnia, fatigue, anxiety, and pain management.
Cultivating Headbanger requires attention to environmental conditions, favoring humid climates with temperatures between 72 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit. The plant can reach heights of up to 60 inches, necessitating regular pruning to manage growth. Its flowering period lasts 10 to 12 weeks, with a harvest time after 56 days. Despite the cultivation challenges, including its need for specific conditions and maintenance, Headbanger’s seeds are widely available online, offering growers the chance to produce a strain known for its potent effects and rich terpene profile.
We were lucky enough to get a sample of the Gman_Grows420 cut via East London Cannabis Club, which I had previously smoked and so knew was going to be a strong one!
Appearance
This bud looks great, with a good trim job and dense buds packed with lots and lots of trichomes.
I also got to see and include some videos of the headbanger plants themselves. This showed just how many trichomes were dotted about, covering the buds and leaves (see the video for more details).
Smell
This bud smells like one of the strongest instances of OG that I can remember. It is a really strong smelling strain, and again, doesn’t disappoint in this area. One of my favourite things about the Headbanger is the smell.
Taste
This gets top marks for taste in my opinion. The gassy, earthy OG taste came through a treat through my bong, a lot more than 99% of other strains I’ve smoked through it. Reminds me of the quality from B28’s Green Crack – top notch.
Effects
From the trichome coverage I guessed this was going to be a strong one, and yes, it was. The bong itself was quite intense, causing me to cough a bit before the effects kicked in. When they did I got a mix of intense uplifted, relaxed and possibly creative (although I felt too high to be sure).
Overall
This is a really good grow of a really good strain, and I thoroughly enjoyed reviewing it. Very impressed!
