This week we are taking a look at the Green Crack strain.
This is a strong sativa. We were also lucky enough to get our hands on two phenotypes for the review!
The smell, flavour and look of this bud are all great. Potential medical benefits may include treatment for depression and low energy but possibly not the best strain for anxiety.
Genetics & History
- Lineage: Interestingly, Green Crack was originally named “Cush” but underwent a rebranding after a certain celebrity encounter (likely Snoop Dogg). It’s largely believed to be a cross of Skunk #1 with an unknown indica strain.
- Sativa-Dominant: Despite the intense name, the genetics of Green Crack lean heavily sativa, though estimates on the percentage vary.
Appearance & Aroma
- Buds: Fluffy, vibrantly colored buds tend to range from bright green to yellowish orange, boasting lots of orange hairs.
- Aroma: Green Crack packs a strong, tangy aroma reminiscent of tropical fruits, particularly mango, along with citrus and some earthiness. Its terpene profile features plenty of myrcene, which contributes to its fruity notes.
Effects
- Energetic: The key characteristic of Green Crack is its intense burst of focused energy. Users often report feeling uplifted, talkative, and motivated.
- Cerebral: It delivers a strong cerebral high, known to promote creativity and a sense of euphoria. For some, this focused energy can also help with battling fatigue.
- Potential Medical Uses: Due to its stimulating effects, Green Crack is often sought out by those looking for:
- Relief from depression
- Managing fatigue
- Reducing stress
- IMPORTANT NOTE: For some individuals prone to anxiety, high-energy sativas like Green Crack could actually exacerbate those feelings.
Growing Notes
- Difficulty: Experienced growers might find Green Crack a bit more challenging due to its potential to stretch and get unruly.
- Indoor/Outdoor: It generally thrives in warm, sunny climates when grown outdoors but is adaptable to indoor setups.
- Climate: Ideal for dry environments where the risk of mold is lessened.
- Flowering Time: Expect a flowering period of about 7-9 weeks.
Additional Notes
- Name Controversy: Despite its popularity, the name “Green Crack” remains highly controversial due to its connotations.
- Sensitivity: While beloved for its intense energy, be aware that this strain might not be the best choice if you’re prone to anxiety or paranoia. Start with a small dose before diving in.
Disclaimer: As with any strain, the effects of Green Crack will vary between users. This information is based on commonly reported effects and general understanding of its genetics.
