Canada Has Confirmed It Is Legalising Cannabis in 2017

Great news for the worldwide fight to legalise cannabis as Canada confirms it will legalise and regulate Cannabis from Spring 2017.
They actually announced this yesterday – on 420! Apparently this wasn’t intentional, but we couldn’t think of a more fitting time.
“We know it is impossible to arrest our way out of this problem,” Health Minister Jane Philpott said Wednesday in New York during an impassioned speech to the United Nations General Assembly at a special session on global drug policy.
The government revealed plans to make good on a major campaign promise to legalise, regulate and restrict access to cannabis.
“Canada will continue to modernise our approach to drug policy. Building on our successes, such as (safe injection sites), our work will embrace upstream prevention, compassionate treatment and harm reduction,” she said.
Great things like this are more likely to happen when you have a liberal Government in power, but sadly we are stuck with the Conservative Government who during their second consecutive term still do not entertain changing Britain’s cannabis laws.
We hope that Britain follows suit in the future, but for now congratulate our Canadian cousins on these great changes that will come into effect next Spring.
